To me, Frankenstein is less a story about giving birth to life and more a story about a man creating a “work” solely for his own ambition.
I translated that idea into a title sequence built around sculpting. Instead of depicting lightning or literal body-stitching, I show creation as a controlled process of carving stone into form with a robotic drill.
Although the story is set in the 1890s, I chose modern machinery to frame creation as manufacturing rather than a miracle. The cold precision of the machine reflects Victor’s controlling mindset and his lack of responsibility once the “work” no longer fits his ideal. As the form becomes more complete, beauty and obsession grow together, leaving one question behind: is the creator ready to take responsibility? The sequence ends with emptiness and loneliness in front of what has been made.
